A “Musical Arabian Night,” which offered audiences a colorful and tuneful evening of fun, Kismet features a poet and teller of tales who assumes the guise of Hajj, a beggar in ancient Baghdad, and finds himself in various mishaps as he battles a wicked Wazir. This version was part of a series of musical revivals produced by famed composer Richard Rodgers for Lincoln Center from 1964-1969 at New York’s City Center.
